Parents pick up November report cards at the school. The June report card will be sent home by mail. The students take all other report cards and progress reports home. When progress reports and report cards are taken home, they are to be signed by a parent or guardian and returned to school within three (3) days or student will serve a detention for each day until signed report card/progress report are returned.

INCOMPLETE GRADES

As determined by the principal, due to extraordinary circumstances, (i.e. documented severe medical illness), an Incomplete (I) is given to any student who misses a substantial number of assignments and/or major projects or quizzes. All Incomplete grades must be made up as soon as possible butnolater than two weeksafter the student’s return toschool. It is the student’s responsibility to see that missed work is made up within the designated time.

FAILING GRADES/SUMMER SCHOOL

A student who fails a required course for the year must make it up at an approved summer school or by private work done under a certifiedtutor for the subject during the summer following the failed course. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that failures are made up during summer school. The mark earned in summer school is combined with the year’s mark and a final mark is given for the school record. Subjects that are failed may not be repeated at ESA the following year. A failure in two subjects within a marking period may prohibit a student from taking part in extracurricular activities. Students who fail three subjects may be asked to leavethe school.

Students must have all required freshman, sophomore and Junior courses completed and passed before September of the Senior Year.
